Freedom Make Up Review

Recently Freedom Make Up has found its way into my local Superdrug and I was immediately drawn in, due to the large variety of products they had and the affordable price tags for what looked like really good quality products.

I picked up the Pro Powder Strobe Palette which came with a flat edge contour brush (£10), the Pro Studio Strobe Cream (£8) and the Pro Brow Pomade (£5).

The Pro Strobe Palette is a powder palette and contains a top row of highlighters, two matte and one shimmery, and a bottom row of three matte contour shades. All powders are easy to blend and pigmented. I like to use the yellow shade powder to brighten under my eyes. The brush that comes with it is also nice, with a flat edge it is perfect for contouring and using to define your cheekbones.

The strobe cream when blended out is a pinky shimmer, and as I haven't tried a strobe cream before such as the Mac one, I don't have anything to compare it to. As far as liquid highlights go, it's good, not my favourite but offers a lovely shimmer to the skin for a natural looking highlight. At 50ml the tube is a decent size for £8.
My favourite of the three I picked is the brow pomade. I haven't tried the Anastasia one, so once again I can not compare this to anything, but I was really pleasantly surprised with how good this product is. It's creamy and easy to use and work with, and has a great colour pay off. It doesn't seem to be drying out at all, and so overall I am really impressed with this product and this is all I am currently using to define my brows. There are eleven shades to choose from, but the only downside is that I have mid-dark brown eyebrows and the colour shade I had to choose for me was 'blonde' as it seemed to match me perfectly, so the shade range seems to be quite dark and not suitable for people with light eyebrows.

I would really recommend this brand, it's affordable and great quality and has a good range of products to choose from.

November Birchbox x Skinny Dip - Product Review

I originally wanted this post to go up on my blog during November so this box would still be available for you to get your hands on. However, University  became very demanding very fast, and I found myself squashed under piles of work, with my exciting blog posts being pushed to the background. Despite this, the products that were within this box are available to purchase anyway, and so I thought I would do a little mini review of the items within last month's box.

When I heard that Birchbox and Skinnydip were collaborating I knew immediately that it would be something I was going to be very interested in. I was also so attracted to the design on the outside of the box that I felt that I would have probably purchased this anyway without even knowing the products inside! This was my first box from Birchbox so I have nothing to compare it to, unfortunately this box got a few bad reviews from regular customers, however I was very impressed with the selection I got in my box.

  • Lord and Berry Silhouette Neutral Lip Liner
  • Cowshed Cow Pat Hand Cream (50ml)
  • REN Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial
  • Living Proof Restore Instant Repair Cream
  • Trilogy Make-Up Be Gone Cleansing Balm
  • English Laundry Notting Hill Femme Eau De Parfum

The neutral lip liner I haven't actually used all that much yet as I have been wearing the same lip combo for pretty much the last two months, but I think I will get a lot more use out of this one in the coming weeks as will definitely be getting in the christmas spirit and wearing much more red and burgundy coloured lipsticks. This liner will stop the lipstick from bleeding as it is a clear and helps in achieving a more precise lip.

The Cowshed cow pat hand cream isn't greasy or sticky and is really nourishing. However I am not all that keen on the scent. I looked into the ingredients and I like the scent of everything that is in the hand cream individually, but all together I am not so keen on. Despite this, the scent doesn't linger and I can also see an improvement in my nails.

I have never tried any REN products before but have been enjoying using this product before I apply my moisturiser. After using it for a few days my skin appears to be brighter when I wake up in the morning and it leaves it feeling super soft.

I have so many flyaway bits of hair and when I apply the repair cream to my hair a little goes a long way. I apply it to damp hair and when it dries naturally, my hair appears much more smoother without so many frizzy or frayed bits.

The perfume is one of my absolute favourite items from this box. I love it. My favourtite perfume of all time is 'Si' by Georgio Armani and this smells so much like it, that it's no wonder I love it so much. It lasts all day long and I get so many compliments when I wear it.

The collboration with Skinny Dip - despite the beautiful box design, was pretty disappointing. The box came with a £10 voucher for Skinny Dip, which is great, but you have to spend a minimum of £24 to use the voucher. I'm not sure if I will use it and so I was disappointed with that.

I would like to try another Birchbox at some point as I think they offer really great products within a box for an inexpensive price, without having to sign up for a monthly subscription.

Halloween 2015

My best friend and I love Halloween and try our best to out-do ourselves each year, or at least choose just as good an outfit or idea. I wanted to challenge myself creatively this year and decided to go as a cracked doll! A popular choice, but one I have never thought of before and I loved experimenting with looks and ideas.

I really enjoyed creating a make up look and drawing lines on my face to make the cracked look, as well as coming up with a cute outfit to wear!

I am already planning my costume for next Halloween!

My tips to a healthy glow all year round.

I do love the Autumn and Winter months, but I miss the glow my skin tends to have during the Summer. I have combination skin, but in the colder months the drier areas of my skin definitely take over. I have put together a few tips and tricks that I have been using to retain and recreate that glow.

I don't self tan all that often as I find it too much of a chore, but when I do I use the Cocoa Brown tan by Marissa Carter. This tan has been my favourite for a while now as it works efficiently. It doesn't have an of putting or pungent smell and is easy to distribute with the mitt. The tan is not too orange, but gives a natural and healthy looking sun kissed glow to the skin.

To bronze up my face I like to use the W7 Make Up and Glow Bronzing Base, which is a great dupe for the Soleil Tan De Chanel. It's a cream based product and is easy to blend out. I apply it to my cheekbones and forehead - the places the sun would naturally hit.

Before I apply the tan I always ensure to moisturise. A few months back I picked up this Garnier Body product mainly as it claimed to be suitable for dry skin and non-greasy and non-sticky. When looking for skincare products these are the factors I look for, and I was not disappointed with this moisturiser. It has a nice smell, and leaves my skin feeling soft all day.

For a fresh looking face I use the Clinique liquid facial soap every day as well as the Garnier Moisture Match Protect and Glow that illuminates the skin and gives a natural looking glow. A plus of this product is that it also has an SPF of 20. These products from Garnier are suitable for everyone as they cater to every skin type and are super affordable.

I try to drink as much water every day as I can, and when I want something a little more interesting I like to add a few slices of either lemon or cucumber. These not only make your water a little more tasty but they have great health benefits. Cucumber water is great for your skin, the antioxidants help it to stay clear. Lemon water helps to cleanse your system and flush out the toxins as well as decreasing blemishes. I like to use this cup as it makes it more exciting to drink from! As nice as it is to be able to use products to make your skin look healthy on the outside, it's so important to look after your skin from the inside by eating and drinking well and getting ll the nutrients you need to stay healthy. If you need any help or inspiration on healthy recipes then I highly recommend you go and check out 'ALOHA' as they have a great variety of ideas.

So these are a few of my tips for achieving a healthy summer glow all year round. If you have any tips or any products that you like to use to achieve a healthy glow then let me know!

Dupe: W7 Hollywood Bronze and Glow - Charlotte Tilbury Dupe

I was immediately drawn to this product before I even knew what it was or which brand it was by. The fact that it looks so similar to Charlotte Tilbury's Filmstar Bronze and Glow made me purchase the product without any second thoughts. As amazing as the Charlotte Tilbury product seems to be, I haven't tried it as I just cannot fathom spending that much, and at £4.95 I just had to try this obviously inspired dupe.

I like everything I've tried from W7 and was really excited when I discovered this product. I am not overly fond of the packaging; the mirror is quite pointless as it isn't big enough to be able to use when applying the product, however I like how the powders are displayed inside.

The powders themselves are pigemented enough but can also be built up, and they both have a shimmery finish to them. The bronzer is fairly orange but I can make it work with my skin, and the highlighter is a lovely champagne colour. I don't own the Charlotte Tilbury product, and so I cannot effectively review this in comparison to it, but this is a great bronzer and highlighter duo for a really great price.

Amphora Aromatics: Lavender and Tea Tree Moisturiser

This is the second product from the AA Skincare range that I am reviewing on my blog, (see here) and once again, it has been a pleasure using this product. I have a lot of respect for this range; with a combination of essential oils and natural ingredients this skincare range creates effective and affordable products.

Lavender & Tea Tree Moisturising Face Lotion
I have never been fond of the scent of lavender, particularly when used in products that are applied to the body, and so before I tried this I was slightly curious about whether that factor would have an input in my use of this face lotion. I was pleasantly surprised and found that the scent was not too overwhelming, and that I've become to like the scent of lavender. I am also a fan of tea tree and the benefits it has and have found that the mix of these two together creates a calming and soothing lotion that also helps to refresh and clear the skin.

The cream is light and absorbs easily and quickly and it does not make my skin feel sticky or greasy at all. I am not 100% certain as to whether this lotion clears spot prone skin or blemishes, as fortunately I have been having a good skin month! I hope to be able to test this theory in the upcoming weeks.

I really like the packaging of this product, the easy to use pump is great for distributing the cream, and £6.96 for 100ml is really not bad going at all.

I am happy to be able to give my readers a 20% discount: use BLOG20 at their website! (Link below)

I hope to review more products from AA Skincare in the future. Visit them on social media Facebook / Twitter / https://instagram.com/aaskincareuk/ or visit them at their website http://www.aaskincare.co.uk/

Physicians Formula - Shimmer Strips Natural Nude

Physicans Formula is a brand I have been wanting to try for quite a while now but unfortunately it is not sold, or widely available in the UK. Amazon have a few products with quite a hefty price tag, and so when my best friend recently visited America, she very kindly bought me an item back.

The first thing I noticed when I found this brand was the very pretty and photogenic packaging, which is dangerous territory for me when purchasing products, I get drawn in by attractive packaging and products sometimes before necessarily knowing much about the product itself.

I wanted to try the Shimmer Strips Custom All-in-1 Nude Palette for Face and Eyes. This is a multifunctional, versatile product, which states that it can be used to accentuate cheeks and enhance the eyes. All 12 shades differ in colour and are all beautiful natural colours. The strips are pigmented, and can either be blended together or worn separately; the whole box provides the essentials to a natural face. I use this product as bronzer, highlighter, eyeshadow and it can also be used as eyeliner. The colours aren't too shimmery but still provide a lovely glow, it can also be built up to give a really intense highlight.

A mirror, appplicators and directions are all compactly fit into the small, pretty packaging. The product doesn't irritate my sensitive skin and it has many purposes, overall a really good, versatile product.

August Favourites

First things first; where on Earth has August gone?! I feel like I have blinked and here we are on the cusp of September, nearing Autumn and saying goodbye to another summer again, way to soon for my liking.

My august favourites are very brief, but they have been the products I have been applying everyday I have worn make up during August and tools I have used to do so, and while the UK hasn't had the best weather this summer, with these products I have been able to achieve  bronzed and glowy skin, making it look like I have been on a tropical escape to the Caribbean!

Also, all the products are super affordable but do just as an amazing job as high street brands would do.

Make Up Revolution Baked Bronzer Really easy to blend, buildable and has some glitter in it, I like to add this to certain areas of my face to add a bronzed glow.

Make Up Revolution Golden Lights Highlighter Super pigmented, a white-golden shimmery shade, perfect for cheekbones as well as eye brow highlight.

W7 Make Up and Glow Bronzing Base Easily blendable, gel based bronzer, isn't too orangey, perfect dupe for Soleil Tan De Chanel. Great for contour, all over bronzer or under foundation to even skin tone and add a bronzed base.

Real Techniques Stippling Brush Versatile brush, love using it to apply the W7 Bronzing Base, it helps to distribute and blend the product.

Ebay Fan Shape Make Up Brush Also in last months favourites, this brush is soft, really affordable but good quality and is the perfect shape for applying highlighter.

What have you been loving this month?

Favourite Concealers

Concealers are literally my life savers when it comes to make up. I have always struggled with dark circles and now I even know which ones work best for me when paired with a particular foundation. Some I prefer to use as under eye coverage and others for any blemishes or red areas.

NYX HD Photogenic Concealer - Great for under eye brightening and concealing. It doesn't crease or go cakey, it blends beautifully, particularly with a damp beauty blender and is a great price!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - This concealer is also good for tired eyes, but I think it works best to cover any red areas and when set with a powder it stays in place all day.

LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer - These concealers blend really well, and I also use a darker shade as a contour at times. I love using this one under my eyes, and it also works well as a highlight for different areas of the face. I just wish they would change the packaging!

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - One of my favourites. Although it is on the pricier side I think it is well worth every penny, light, creamy and easily blended, this one also works lovely with a beauty blender.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer - Another great one from the drugstore. I don't find that this one covers any blemishes as well as the Collection concealer, but I do enjoy using this one for under my eyes when I'm going for a lighter make up look. I also love pairing it with the Wake Me Up foundation.

MAC Studio Finish Concealer - A thick consistency, works well to cover blemishes and also is good for under eye coverage. I always use it with a small brush though, as I find when blended with fingers it takes away the coverage.

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer - I like using this to cover my dark circles, it blends well and although it doesn't give as much coverage as some other concealers in my collection, it does do the job of covering up my under eye circles and any problem areas.

What are your favourite concealers?

No Make Up Make Up Necessities

My preferred make up look as of late has been the 'no make up' make up look. Particularly during the summer months when ideally I want to be wearing less on my face, and long and sometimes early hours at work means I don't want to have to keep checking my make up during the day, or that I just want longer in bed, and so a simple and easily achievable look is much more desirable than a full face!

I've discovered products that help me to achieve this minimal 'no make up' look, and get longer in bed!

After cleaning my face, I will apply a moisturiser, ideally one with an SPF, I like the Garnier Moisture Match Illuminating Lotion, as it adds a subtle glow to my skin but it doesn't feel too heavy once applied. I then apply the body shop primer as it helps my make up stay in place all day, and creates a nice base to apply my foundation over. Additionally, I sometimes use the L'oreal Skin Perfection cream which when squeezed out of the tube is a white colour but applies to the skin with a brown tint, this evens the colouration of my skin. I then bronze up my face with a perfect Soleil Tan De Chanel dupe by W7. This product is much cheaper and blends perfectly. I then comb through my brows, and when I'm in a rush I will skip my full brow routine and apply some of the Maybelline Brow Drama; combing my brows into place as well as adding just a hint of colour to them to make them look a little bit more filled in.

This is how I achieve my 'no make' make up look for the skin. If I am leaving the house I will almost definitely apply some mascara to make myself look more awake and then I'm set to go!

Let me know if you have any preferences to products that help to create the perfect 'no make up' make up look!

Until next time,

Brush Edit: Ebay

I'm fairly fussy when it comes to make up tools and in particular brushes. My idea was to browse ebay for some 'back up brushes' for when my Real Techniques brushes are either drying after being cleaned, or when they are in desperate need of being cleaned. I was also rather short on smaller, eye shadow brushes so when I cam across this 10 piece collection for just £4.95 (price may vary) I went ahead and bought them. Not only did the price attract me, but the different styles and shapes of the brushes that were in the collection.

1) Precision Angled
2) Precision Flat Angled
3) Precision Flat
4) Precision Round
 5) Precision Tapered

1) Flat Kabuki
2) Angled Kabuki
3) Flat Angled Kabuki
4) Round Kabuki
5) Tapered Kabuki

I bought this collection from here and was really impressed with the quality of the brushes and how well each one works for different purposes. In my opinion there are a number of different brushes on ebay that are worth purchasing as they are cheap and really great quality!

Red Lip Winners

Red Lipstick is a shade I take very seriously in my make up collection. It has to be non-drying and long lasting. A bold red lip is such a classic look and sometimes it is difficult to find a shade that flatters your complexion well. This can usually be solved, I find, by finding a specific eye look that compliments that particular shade. These five are the red lipsticks I cannot live without.

 1) Rouge Edition Velvet in '08 Grand Cru' - Bourjois Paris
2) Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in '01' - Rimmel London
3) Colorburst Lip Butter in '035 Candy Apple' - Revlon
4) Shade '13' -Make Up Academy
5) Ruby Woo - Mac

Left to right - Revlon Lip Butter, Kate Moss Rimmel, Ruby Woo Mac, MUA, Bourjois Rouge Edition.

Each shade varies in texture, finish and pigmentation. The Revlon lip butter is a lot sheerer than the other shades and is glossier in finish, but it is still a pigmented shade. The Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick is long lasting and non drying with a matte finish, just like Ruby Woo from Mac. The MUA lipstick is also similar in texture to the Mac and Rimmel lipsticks, but I find it is a slightly lighter shade. The Bourjois lipstick is a matte finish but it is different from other matte lipsticks I own. This feels like a mix between a cream and a mousse and although the product dries very quickly it is really soft to apply. It is a deep red/burgundy shade but is also quite sheer and so a few coats are needed, and once applied this product does not move.

What are your holy grail red lipsticks?

Dupe: W7 Make Up and Glow Bronzing Base

I'm definitely one for a bargain, who isnt?! Unfortunately, not all make up bargains have been that successful, in my opinion, but this product is definitely a winner! I have been aware of W7 for a long time, but I think they have only just come into their own and really upped their game. They seem to be the copycat brand for beauty products and this dupe attracted my attention as a much cheaper alternative to Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel.

Just like Soleil Tan De Chanel, this product is cream based, easily blended and lasts for a long time on the skin. Rather than the steep £32 price tag for the Chanel product, the W7 one comes in at just under £5 and in my opinion, you get just as good a product, with the only difference being that you don't get the more fancy Chanel packaging, or the famous Chanel scent. In fact the ingredients are super similar in both products, with the W7 bronzer containing less ingredients, but still giving a matte bronzed look to the skin.

The creme dries like a powder and doesn't budge all day, it is perfect for matching your face with your body in the summer, but as it is not too orangey on the skin, it can be worn all year round. Another quality this product has in common with the Soleil Tan De Chanel is that it is highly pigmented, so be light handed - a little goes a long way!

This product is great as a contour or just an all over bronzer, I find it works best with a buffing or stippling brush as I can apply the product with a light hand more easily. It doesn't just stick to the skin like some creme products, it blends out beautifully, and as it is not too orangey I find that it works well with my fair skin tone.

Overall, a successful dupe from W7. I look forward to what this brand has to come in the future.

Have you used any W7 products before?

Models Own Festival Collection - Lipsticks and Polishes

Earlier in the year Models Own released a festival collection including polishes, lipsticks, face paint and colourful hairspray, perfect for the summer and for wearing to any of the festivals taking place around the country.

Each lipstick is incredibly pigmented and long lasting with some having more of matte finish than others, and so it's important that your lips are moisturised and in top condition before applying them. The range consists of super bright, red, pink and orange shades, and so they are perfect for summer, or for applying to a minimal make up look at a festival.

From left to right:
Sunrise - A vibrant orange shade which can also be sheered out so its not so in your face. My favourite colour to wear in the summer and paired with a gorgeous glowing highlighter to the cheeks it's creates a beautiful summer goddess look.
Daisy Chain - The most difficult shade to wear in my opinion as it's very light, and on my pale skin it completely washes me out! Despite that, after applying fake tan, and bronzing up my face I can get away with wearing this shade. The most matte out of them all, so make sure to moisturise!
Gone Glamping - The most intense pink in the collection, a slightly nicer formula than daisy chain as it is not quite as matte. This shade is a bright fuchsia pink with a blue undertone.
Main Stage - This is a slightly darker bright pink, it reminds me of 'Girl About Town' by Mac.
Headliner - This is a glossier finish, and a bit more sheer but still a bright red shade that I've enjoyed wearing with winged eyeliner.

I've used each shade of these polishes on either my fingernails or my toenails and I have received compliments on every shade I've worn. They are bright, long lasting and you only really need one coat and you're ready to go! I also find that these polishes dry fairly quickly which is something I like in my nail polishes as I get bored easily waiting for them to dry! These glide on nicely, however they don't have the flat brush that many polishes are now using.

From left to right:
Blue Skies - This is a very rich, bright, cyan blue, when dry and after one/two coats you have the exact colour shown on the bottle. A fun summer colour.
Pink Wellies - Is the perfect mix of a bright neon pink and barbie pink, it's very girly and I achieved perfectly painted nails with just one coat.
Colour Explosion - This polish looks great over every colour in the collection - it's a glitter topper. It has iridescent glitter and pastel matte glitters, and with this polish you will definitely need a few coats.
Green Fields - This is a very grassy green, and I have never been a fan of green nails in the past but I loved wearing this colour! It is slightly more sheer than the others and so I used three coats.
Purple Bandana - My personal favourite of the lot, it is a bright orchid shade and I achieved a perfect finish with just one coat. It is bright and stands out, and is like no other polish I own.

Overall the festival range from Models Own is a great collection, I look forward to what they bring out next!

July Favourites

Many of the products I have been enjoying using in July were the same products I was enjoying in June, so there aren't many items to talk about in my July favourites, however these items I have been reaching for continuously during July and I would like to share them with you.

Rose Gold Aviator Sunglasses - Primark
This year Primark have a great range of gorgeous sunglasses and I own a pair in nearly every colour, apart from rose gold, so when I spotted these I couldn't resist! Cheap, pretty and they do the job!

'Purple Bandana' Festival Collection Nail Polish - Models Own
Just one of five colours in this collection, Purple Bandana gives a bright orchid shade and I only need one coat!

Fan Shape Make Up Brush - Ebay
Perfect for applying highlighter, ebay sell many great quality make up brushes for affordable prices, this one is soft and picks up just the right amount of product.

'Golden Lights' Vivid Baked Highlighter - Make Up Revolution
I don't need to go on about how great this brand is and this product is one of my favourites in their make up range. Golden lights is an opal gold highlighter and gives a small golden shimmer to the cheeks without making you look glittery. A little goes a long way as this product is very pigmented! At £3 its a steal.

'Vanilla' Creamy Concealer - Nars
Covers up any imperfections and dark circles perfectly, blends well, and this product also has a great colour range.

What products have you been loving during July? Also, where has the past month gone?!

Review: Ahava Time to Hydrate Gentle Eye Cream

After kindly being sent this gentle, but moisturising eye cream and having used it twice a day for a number of weeks now I feel I can bring you an honest and in depth review.

Ahava have become experts on dead sea minerals and their effectiveness in beauty products, creating products that include ingredients that are kind to skin, free of animal testing, paraben free and approved for sensitive skin (I was already liking the brand at this stage!) There are many, (too many to name!) natural additional key ingredients in Ahava's products, but a main one is the Osmoter; 'powering the entire product range' is Ahava's 'exclusive blend of natural minerals' which is obtained from Dead Sea saline water.

I have sensitive and dry skin, and in particular, really dry under eyes. I have tried many eye creams, eye serums and creams over the years to hydrate the skin under my eyes and combat any dry areas that my foundation and concealer sometimes stick to, instead of blending in. The tag line 'time to hydrate' in Ahava's product time to hydrate gentle eye cream immediately interested me, and although I have tried many products, some better than others, I don't get tired of trying out new ones as I truly believe in the importance of skin care.

This eye cream claims to 'deliver rich moisture' and give the skin 'a visibly younger appearance.' Now as I am still only 21 years old, I have not noticed any difference in my skin in terms of youthful appearances, however I can say that the product really does give moisture to the very delicate eye area. The skin under my eyes is calmer, much softer, dark circles are lightened and any puffiness I had has been reduced. I use it morning and night, and find that it works really well under make up. My concealer blends much better into my skin and no longer just sits upon it. Also, when this product is applied there is a nice cooling feeling to the skin.

Ahava's eBay store is a great platform to browse all products, read reviews and find out information on the products they sell. The item was shipped to me in impressive, record speed and Ebay is doing an offer of saving £5 when you spend £100. At £22 the product is pricier than some drugstore brands, but a little goes a long way with this and I can see mine lasting for a long while. I'm not all that keen at having to stick my fingers into the pot, but that is just my pickiness with packaging, I use my fingers to tap in the product anyways!

I noticed immediate results with this eye cream, if you are after a hydrating, but non sticky and non drying eye cream then find the product at Ahava's easy to navigate, eBay store: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Ahava-Active-Dead-Sea-Mineral?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

My Top Summer Nail Polishes

I still find painting my nails sort of a chore, it's safe to say I don't particularly enjoy the task; I either get impatient waiting for them to dry, think to myself why on earth did I pick this colour once it's on my nails, or I end up smudging them because I get an itch or I need to move - why does this always happen?!

However, I still buy way more polish than I need and get excited whenever brands bring out a range of new colours or finishes. Despite not particularly enjoying the task of painting them, I still do it, and enjoy picking out a shade suitable to an upcoming event or a season of the year to match an outfit or to make me feel happy. I love wearing bright colours on my fingers and toes in the summer, and wearing a pair of pretty sandals to show them off, or accessorise with some sparkly rings and bracelets to really accentuate my hands.

In this post I share with you my favourite shades that will make you feel totally summery for this season. There are a range of neon, bright, pale, shimmery, matte and even scented shades so there are plenty to choose from.

Barry M 'Eat My Dust' - Speedy Quick Dry
This is a gorgeous pale blue colour and as the name suggests it dries quickly to achieve perfectly coated nails efficiently. It has a flat brush to cover more of the nail with one coat and I find after two coats my nails are full of the colour and aren't streaky or sheer. Little to no clean up is needed after because of the style of the brush and this is something I really look for in a polish as we've already established my dislike for the task of painting my nails. I find one coats dries after about 60 seconds and I have touch dry nails within five minutes after using this polish.

Maybelline New York 'Pink in the Park' - Super Stay 7 Days
Without a top coat this polish lasted four days on my nails before it chipped or started flaking. You can get an even finish quickly due to the flat brush as more polish can be distributed onto the nails. This a bubblegum pink shade that looks great with a tan, but is perfect for any skin tone.

Sinful Colours 'Snow Me White'
When my nails are well manicured I like wearing a white shade and for £1.99 Sinful Colours offers a great polish. It's not streaky or watery and opaque with just two coats. It is a little thick but for the inexpensive price it does the job.

Rimmel London 'Goddess' - Salon Pro Kate Moss
This polish also has a flat wide brush to distribute a lot of polish onto the nail. I found it was quite sheer after one coat, but after about two or three coats there was a good amount of polish on my nails. The polish has a gel shine finish and I found that it didn't chip until about five days wearing it.

Barry M 'Guava' - Gelly Hi Shine
This polish has a very glossy gel like finish and is rich in colour with just one coat. It is a gorgeous turquoise blue colour and is bright and perfect for summer.

Barry M 'Mediterranean' - Aquarium Collection
This a mix of a pink and copper to create a shiny colour that looks beautiful in the sun.

Models Own 'Banana Split' - Fruit Pastel Collection

This polish is from a range of different scented shades from models own which are made up of creamy, pastel shades. Each has a different fruit scent and comes with retro scratch and sniff stickers on the lid. Pale colours tend to be fairly sheer but this polish can be easily built up with two to three coats.

Models Own 'Beach Hut' - Polish For Tans Collection
New this year, this is the first of three in this post from this collection. This colour is a super bright, neon and attention grabbing orange.

Models Own 'Cocktail Hour' - Polish For Tans Collection
Definitely the brightest in this collection, this polish is a neon coral and I love wearing it with a lipstick I own which is an exact colour match!

Models Own 'Malibu Pink' Polish For Tans Collection
This is a bright, easter egg, barbie pink and would compliment any summer outfit. Two coats for this collection works best I find.

Let me know what your favourite shades are!
