Apps For Great Quality Photos

I think it is very important when running a blog, or growing your Instagram following, that your photos are of high quality, and many a time, this is achieved through photo editing which many apps provide the tools for. I get a few people asking me about what I use to edit my photos often and so thought it would be a good idea to share the apps I use on a daily basis.

  • Afterlight - The first thing I do after taking a photo is edit it in this app. I usually brighten the photo, add some contrast and then apply a border to fit into the layout of my Instagram account. This app has so many filters and options conveniently categorised so it's easy to use.
  • Picfx - This is similar to Afterlight as it also has many choices and options when altering your photos. This app is also great for adding a vintage feel to your photos.
  • Studio - This app is great for adding text or layers to your photos as well as graphics to really enhance your photos and make them look professional.
  • VSCOcam - This is a great alternative to Afterlight with some great options for editing and adding filters.
  • Facetune - This app is perfect for your selfies! You can touch up your face on bad skin days, or use it to cover up any spots or dark areas.
Are there any other apps that you use to edit your photos?

W7 Eye Palette

In The Buff: Lightly Toasted Natural Nudes palette is just one of four eye palettes from w7 in this collection, the other three being In The Buff, In The Nude and In The Night. What drew me to this collection was the fact that they look very similar to the Naked Palettes from Urban Decay and were so much cheaper in price. I chose the Lightly Toasted palette as it contained shades that I have always worn on my eyes and feel comfortable wearing, as well the fact that I know I can make use of every shade in the palette.

Each palette contains twelve very pigmented shades for just £4.99. This palette contains colours that are neutral but they can be built up to create a darker, more intense smoky eye, making this palette perfect for bringing your look from day to night. I find that these colours last on my eyes without creasing or moving and the palette comes with a dual ended brush/sponge, which I don't always use when applying but it is still pretty good.

Also, I need to discuss the packaging of this product. It comes in a metal, tin case, not cardboard or plastic, thank goodness and so the eyeshadows are well protected by the sturdy case.

From left to right: Teddy Bear, Wonderland, Cracker, Happy, Lady Luck, Twister, Di Di,
Delilah, Magic, It's A Dream, Up In Smoke and Dawn.

All in all, a really good buy, with a range of shades to take your make up look from day to night.

Until next time,

Exploring Fuengirola, Spain

If you follow me on Instagram you will have known that last month I spent a week in Spain with my best friend to celebrate us both turning 21. The weather was beautiful, the food was great and the people were lovely, and like usual, the holiday flew by and I was back in rainy England before I knew it.

We flew into Malaga and travelled by coach to our hotel in the town of Fuengirola right on the beach front. Our hotel was beautiful and clean and perfectly situated, with plenty of bars and pubs around the area and beach front to go to, where the entertainment was fun, and the prices cheap.
The lovely view from our balcony

We spent one morning at the Bioparc, which is a small sized zoo/wildlife park with a range of animals not far from Fuengirola - walking distance, where we got to walk through the Lemur exhibit which was my favourite part.

Bikini - Primark

Fuengirola is situated in a perfect area for being able to travel to the surrounding towns. From our hotel (Hotel Angela) it was only a short walk to the bus station where you could catch a regular bus to lots of places. We decided to visit Torremolinos and Marbella, both very beautiful and picturesque.

I would definitely recommend Fuengirola and Malaga as a holiday destination, the area is perfect for a relaxing beach holiday, or a tourist and sightseeing break, we managed to do a bit of both in our short time vacating there.

Where are you heading on holiday this year?

Current Favourite Lip Colour

I have always liked this colour lip, but recently I have been obsessed with wearing it, and I   now own so many different products of a similar shade to fuel said obsession. It is not really a bright, vibrant colour for summer, but it is still one I find myself wearing year round and this is the main reason for justifying myself when I end up buying another product of the same shade!

Lime Crime Velvetine - Cashmere

Mac Lip Liner - Whirl

Sleek Matte Me - Birthday Suit

Maybelline Coloursensational Lipstick - Rosewood Pearl

Nars Sheer Glow

Nars sheer glow is by far one of the most talked about and blogged foundations there are. I'm quite proud of how long I resisted buying this, but after reading many reviews and just imagining it being in my make up collection, I finally took the plunge. One of the reasons why I held off buying this for so long was not just the price, but because no where near me has a Nars counter and so I could not get colour matched, after so much research I internet matched myself to 'Mont Blanc' and was very happy when it arrived as it was the perfect match - well done me! I wouldn't say this is a dewy foundation, although some people describe it as such due to the name, but it has more of a satin finish that gives a glow to the skin to make it appear healthy and natural. It does stick to any dry patch of skin so I ex-foliate regularly and always apply moisturiser before use, usually one with an SPF as this foundation doesn't have one.

The only downside to it I would say is that it does not come with a pump, although the packaging is lovely it can get messy if you have a wobbly hand like I do, so for an extra £3 you cant go wrong, and that way you aren't using excessive amounts of the product each use!

Overall this foundation blends well, there are lots of colours to choose from and it gives a flawless finish that photographs beautifully.
