June Favourites

Well here we are heading into July, this middle of the year already and thus it is time for my monthly favourites, just a small number of items, two I have been loving for a while but have been using a lot during June, and two products I picked up towards the beginning of the month and have been obsessed with and unable to put down since.

Victoria's Secret Pink All Over Body Mist 'Soft and Dreamy' - I have had this for a while now and I am not even sure if this is still available to purchase, I have a feeling it may have been discontinued, but when abroad in America I smelt this and immediately purchased it. Even though it is a body mist, it lasts all day, and a little goes a long way, I have owned it for a while now and use it regularly and often. This smells warm and sweet, and whilst they may not sell these in particular anymore, I highly recommend their body sprays!

Ciate London Olivia Palermo Cheekbone Cheat Duo 'Bluffpoint'-  A matte bronzer and blusher duo, pigmented and stays all day on the skin, an overall really lovely product that I have been using every day to achieve a healthy sun kissed, brightening glow.

Barry M Illuminating Strobe Cream 'Iced Bronze' - I am so impressed with this, I cannot recommend this enough. As soon as I swatched this in Superdrug I immediately put it in my basket. It is creamy, smooth and very pigmented and priced at only £4.49. There are two shades to choose from, I picked 'Iced Bronze' which is a champagne shade and it is really easy to blend.

Barry M Molten Metal Nail Polish 'Copper Mine'- This range has four chrome effect shades to choose from, that have a mirror shine foil finish and lasted without chipping at all for three days, which is standard for Barry M in my experience. I love metallic nails, and this copper/rose gold shade is super pretty.

What have you been loving during June?

Jouer Limited Edition Mermaid Glow Palette

Admittedly, this was a Instagram pressured, packaging purchase, that I do not regret. I saw this beauty on Cult Beauty's Instagram and then followed an email, with news of the new items from Jouer. I had heard of this brand, but have never tried anything from them before and when their mermaid collection hit I  entered a dream like state where I added the Glow Palette straight to my basket and seemingly hit the complete order button and before I knew it this was falling through my letter box.

It's quite pricey for £35, but you get five cream highlighters, in perfect packaging, from a brand that I have read numerous raving reviews about. The palette contains three original cream highlight shades from Jouer and two new and limited edition ones that create the Mermaid Glow Palette. This gives a beautiful, natural light glow and looks lovely particularly on the cheekbones and brow bones, but I can see this being used on the collar bones, cupids bow, eye lids, pretty much anywhere!

The creams are pigmented and non sticky, and I find best used with your finger tips. The palette includes a pearly white shade, a gold, an orangey / rose gold colour, and a pink and a lilac shade, that all give a glow to your complexion, my favourites are the gold and the lilac shade. The highlighters contain conditioning, skin friendly extracts of antioxidants, including Vitamin E. The packaging is great as the palette is customisable, the interlocking of the palette means you can choose to travel with all or just a few of the shades and the box it comes in is so beautiful.

Shades:
Camellia - pearl shade
Tiare - gold
Champagne - rose gold
Seashell - pink
Crystal - lavender / lilac pink

Head to cult beauty to get your hands on this!

Sleek Highlighter Palette - Solstice

It took so long for me to finally own this palette, it was always out of stock online and just never seemed to be in stock in my local Superdrug and Boots. This is the 'Solstice' highlighter palette from Sleek - a much loved favourite amongst beauty lovers and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

First of all I adore the packaging, it's beautiful and the gold case makes it look really high end and luxurious. It also comes with a small brush and a mirror which is always a big plus and really handy for travelling. For £10 you get a mix of four, highly pigmented highlighters, two baked powders, one of a cream formula and one shimmer powder. There are four different shades, with the pink colour being slightly alarming to some as it is really pigmented and intense to swatch but much ore subtle once on the skin this looks stunning and I can imagine this palette will look amazing on any skin tone, or really nice with a tan.

Ecliptic - A champagne pink cream highlighter

Hemisphere - A pinky/lilac shimmery baked powder highlighter

Subsolar - Golden yellow powder highlighter

Equinox - Orange gold baked highlighter

I think this palette is really great for the price and the highlighters are of a really high quality, definitely get your hands on it if you can!

The Body Shop Pinita Colada Body Sorbet

This range from The Body Shop completely captures summer. The smell of Pina Colada is so summery to me, and reminds me of sun sea and sand and I feel like I am on a tropical vacation whenever I apply this.

As soon as I heard of the 'Pinita Colada' range from The Body Shop I immediately went into stores to browse it and came away with the 'Fresh Body Sorbet'. I was intrigued by this and decided to purchase this over the body butter, as it claims to be lightweight, and particularly in the summer I prefer to use moisturiser's that do not feel heavy or sticky on the skin and ones that sink in over just sitting on the skin. This range consists of this body sorbet, a body butter, shower gel and body scrub.

For £8 and a 200ml sized product this offers 'up to 24 hours of hydration' is light and fast absorbing' and 'leaves body instantly moisturised'. After using this not only is my skin moisturised immediately, but when I wake up the next day my skin is super soft and smooth. It does soak in really quickly and is great for use after a shower for quick moisture, and it is nice and lightweight. It does not smell as strong as the body butter, but it still smells delicious and exactly like pineapple and coconut that I find it very difficult to not eat the stuff!

I would love if The Body Shop could create a perfume or body spray for this range as it is my favourite by far.

Bean Burst Coffee Scrub

I love how smooth exfoliating makes my skin, I have quite sensitive skin and have tried so many different ones, and when I came across this coffee scrub, and being a lover of all things coffee, I was really intrigued and excited to try it out. Now I won't lie, I take pride in being honest in my reviews, and this scrub is messy, it went absolutely everywhere! Whilst I was quite annoyed at first about having to clean up the bath and wondering how on earth it made its way up the walls, especially when I used it carefully to avoid this, the results are so good that I am willing to spend some time cleaning up afterwards every time.

Bean Burst scrubs contain antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and natural ingredients, which have powerful effects on the skin to 'repair, rejuvenate and protect.' Additionally, the blends have been described as reducing cellulite, stretch marks, acne, psoriasis, eczema and scarring. There are three scrubs to choose from, all priced at £15 for 200g and free UK shipping! You can choose from Sweet Orange, Grapefruit or Peppermint blend, all that exfoliate the skin to keep it in tip top condition.

The peppermint blend I received is the perfect mix of both scents, but isn't too overwhelming and is designed to invigorate, brighten and energise your skin. As coffee is a natural exfoliant full of antioxidants it helps to produce new skin cells by boosting blood circulation. This does not need to be rubbed or scrubbed into the skin, but simply left on damp skin for 10 minutes and I like to use it once or twice a week.

This really does leave my skin feeling super soft and smooth afterwards and I love the scent of coffee and mint. The product is within a waterproof and foil lined bag and overall, this is perfect for my dry skin.

NU Skin AP 24 Whitening Toothpaste

I love trying out new teeth whitening products, I am quite lucky as my teeth are naturally straight so I love finding new and different products to brighten my smile. Many of these products I get the chance to try are usually strips, gels or pens and not normally an actual toothpaste so I was keen to get started on using this, and after 5 days I already noticed a difference. The second picture is my teeth after a week of using the toothpaste, unfortunately the first picture doesn't quite pick up the more dull colour to my teeth before use.
This toothpaste isn't necessarily designed purely to whiten teeth, but it contains ingredients that clean your teeth which effectively brighten their appearance and removes stains to make them appear brighter.  This toothpaste also claims to have many benefits; brightening and fighting plaque formation. It also contains a formula that contains no harmful peroxides, and aids in the prevention of cavities.

I found that this toothpaste does brighten and whiten my teeth, but as it contains no peroxide it is not really whitening teeth, but cleaning them by removing stains which in turn effectively makes the teeth look whiter. I think I will choose to use this every so often, rather than every day, so I will see clearer effects. I am a daily tea and coffee drinker, so I think this toothpaste will work best for me if I choose to use it occasionally to brighten my teeth after stains appear.
This is a rather expensive toothpaste at £9.32 on the NU Skin website, link here, however I saw  difference after only a few days of using the product so if you are willing to pay a bit more than other toothpaste brands then you are definitely getting your moneys worth and achieving what you pay for. I like the taste of this, it is not too strong or minty and so it is not too overwhelming. This is definitely worth trying, if like me and many others you cannot afford to have your teeth whitened at the dentist!

Magic Mirror Mini Review

When I was approached by Magic Mirror - a Bristol based brand, to receive and review their interesting and innovative product, I was so intrigued and excited as it sounded like nothing I had seen or heard of before.

Magic Mirror is a full length travel mirror, that is compact, and non-glass so it can be taken anywhere! Every time it comes to travelling, I always worry over the mirror in the hotel room, will it be one of those huge ones that always seem to be placed as far away from the natural light as possible, or one that is so small I cannot see my full face at a time?! To combat this problem I have to ensure I am carrying make up products that have a suitable mirror with them but these tend to be small and it frustrates me when I can't view my whole face. This is a product that I never knew I needed until I got it, and now I can't foresee a time where I won't be using it.

This product is simply amazing; it is light, compact, easy to carry and solves all of the above problems. You can choose from a range of different colours and patterns and choose from Beauty Editions, or Mini's which are slightly smaller. The prices range between £29.99 and £45.00, a great price for an innovative product, that comes with four acrylic mirrors, and three different ways of using the product.

I was kindly sent the gorgeous peach colour Magic Mirror Mini, which is perfect for me as she fits so well in my handbag. It is multi functional as it can be used in three different positions, whilst it is a full length mirror, it can also be used in a vanity position when placed on it's side, which I love, or in the pyramid position so two people can use it at once!

You may look at this product and wonder just why, but I wonder why I have never had one before, and I have not gone a day without using this since I have had it!

Lily and Rose Luxury Jewellery

I feel like a royal princess with these on my fingers. I am quite fussy when it comes to jewellery, and in particular, rings. After seeing just how gorgeous the items are from Lily and Rose I knew I would love wearing their rings on my fingers.

About the brand: The jewellery available to purchase are crystal, vintage inspired for all occasions, by Therese Zetterberg, the designer behind Zetterberg Couture.
Everything on the site is so sparkly and beautiful and to me represents a really glamorous lifestyle. Plus, Lily and Rose is inspired by, and a tribute to Sex and the City, so what is not to love!

I picked out three gorgeous rings of various shades, they are small and quite dainty, but also very sparkly and pretty.

The first one I chose, which is also my favourite, is the 'Miss Eponine Rose Water Opal', opal is one of my absolute favourite stones, and I am really into rose gold at the moment, so as soon as I saw this one I knew I needed it in my life. The second one I chose was
a rose gold ring, with a rain drop shape pink stone and diamonds. This one is the 'Amy Antique Pink'. Lastly I chose 'Sofia Silk', a silver brass ring, with swarovskis and a pink crystal.

These rings are priced at £29 which I think is great for the amazing quality, they wont be leaving a horrible coloured mark behind on your fingers that's for sure. They are great as they come as one size that can be altered to fit your fingers, and there is a great selection of rings, for stacking or stand alone wearing, and lots of other jewellery on their site. They also offer free UK delivery!
