Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick 'Mannequin'

After Cocktail Cosmetics finally got a shade that I liked in stock of Jeffree Star's Velour Liquid Lipsticks I added it to my bag straight away and immediately went through the checkout. There are so many mixed reviews on these lipsticks, some stemming from their love or hate of the creator, which sometimes others have described as influencing how honest these people are when actually discussing the product itself, and at times it is difficult to distinguish between these. This is why I wanted to buy and try one myself, so I could find out the truth and see how well I would get on with these lipsticks.

I chose the shade 'mannequin' not my first choice of colour I wanted to try, but still a nice shade, and the only one that Cocktail Cosmetics had in stock at that time that I would actually wear. It is a browny nude shade, described as a pale cool-toned nude, however I find that once applied to my lips and dried, it appears slightly than it does when swatched.

On me, this lasted for the majority of the day, only coming off slightly after eating and drinking, and this is when I needed to re apply for the perfect finish, however it is definitely a long lasting lipstick, that is not too drying as long as you exfoliate and moisturise your lips as I found that it did stick to my dry lips a bit if I did not prepare them beforehand.

I like that these are vegan and cruelty free. The packaging is gorgeous, the scent is not too overpowering but it is not my favourite smell, I own a fair few other liquid lipsticks that I prefer the smell of.

I will definitely be purchasing a few more of these in the future, I have my eyes set on 'Posh Spice' and 'Celebrity Skin'.

Do you own any of these liquid lipsticks?

TerraPrime Moroccan Argan Oil

This Morocan Argan oil has three uses, suitable for hair, skin and nails, and available in a 100ml sleek glass bottle, I can see this lasting for a long while as a little goes a long way.

Having only used this on my hair, as I am very fussy and particular about skincare, I can only speak for this as a product for hair care. As someone who has long, temperamental hair, I enjoy trying and using out new products, to be able to compare and ensure the best for my hair. This claims to have an instant absorption into the hair and skin for shine and for longtime conditioning. I have been using this for a number of weeks now and not only after immediate use, but from using it over time, my hair appears shinier and thus healthier on a daily basis, and I like to use this after showering and sometimes sparingly at various other times of the day to tame frizz. I feel that this is definitely a product that absorbs quickly, it doesn't leave a sticky or greasy residue in the hair, however like previously noted, a little does go a long way,

This oil protects from environmental factors and provides antioxidant to the hair and skin. Once rubbed between the palms of my hands I apply this to where instructed, on the roots and ends of my hair and any stray strands and overall after using this for a few weeks now my hair appears and feel a lot healthier than before which is probably down to the fact that this contains Vitamin E and Omega 3 Fatty Acids

This smells sweet, a tad like vanilla but is not too overpowering. This is also a great product for skin, and as I have dry and sensitive skin, I will certainly be trying it out on dry patches in the near future.

Make Up Revolution Radiance Palette

I love Make Up Revolution products, overall as a brand they are affordable, reliable and sell products of a high standard. I have tried many of their different palettes, and particularly love their chocolate bar eyeshadow palettes, but I have been wanting to try this palette for quite some time now and I finally got round to it!

The Radiance palette is a highlighter palette that consists of three shades; Breathe, Exhale and Glow, all available for purchase individually, but after hearing how great all three shades were, I bought the palette of three and even saved money by doing so. All are fairly pigmented for a palette that only costs £8, but give a natural, lit from within glow that I actually prefer to use as powders over my skin rather than a highlight for my cheekbones, and the darker shade I use to bronze up my skin. They are silky and brightening and I am so impressed this palette that I reach for it everyday.

This is commonly described as a dupe for, and compared to the the ambient lighting powders from Hourglass, however I have not splurged the money to try out any of them so I cannot personally compare the two, but so many reviews link the two together. The packaging and design is lovely, and the has a big mirror which is always a plus for me! Again, I cannot believe this only costs £8.

If you are looking for a dupe for the Hourglass products, then definitely give these highlighters a try!

Go to summer outfit: Primark

I have been thinking about focusing a bit more on fashion lately on my blog and have decided to try to regularly make outfit posts to share my wardrobe with my readers. At the moment, I have been really enjoying wearing culottes and wide leg trousers, they are perfect for a lovely sunny day and nice and cool and chic for the summer. They are being sold pretty much everywhere with so many colours and designs to choose from and a few of my favourites are available from Primark for £12 and under.

This whole outfit is actually from Primark, including the sunglasses and whilst I can't quite remember how much the outfit on a whole cost, I know for certain it was under £30. The sandals are stock from last summer but the other items are still available in Primark at the moment and it is such a wearable and easy outfit to throw together, and culottes even look great when paired with heels for a night out.

Culotte style jumpsuits are also great for this summer or evenings out, and below I have put together some of my favourites.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

Kat Von D is not yet available in the UK, but don't fret, Debenhams start stocking this brand very soon! My friend kindly brought me back the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade 'Bow and Arrow' from the United States as I was so desperate to get my hands on it, and the dollar to pound rate was definitely in my favour.

This lipstick is described as 'life proof' that will not budge after eating and drinking etc, as well as having a 24 hour wear and high pigment colour. Whilst this is definitely long lasting, I found that it did rub off slightly when I ate or drank, and I can not confirm if this lasts 24 hours, I don't think many of us wear lipstick for that long a time haha! There are 28 shades to choose from and 'Bow and Arrow' is also definitely highly pigmented and to achieve the true matte finish with high pigmentation I only need one coat, it glides on like a lipgloss before it sets to a matte finish.  'Bow and Arrow' is described as a nude shade but I find it leans more on the pinky nude side and it reminds me of shades like Velvet Teddy and Whirl from Mac as well as Dolce K from Kylie Cosmetics.

The smell of this lipstick is sweet but not too overpowering, and I find it sits best on my lips when they are well moisturised beforehand, however the lipstick is not drying at all which is probably because it contains natural moisturisers such as Vitamin E and sunflower seed wax. Additionally this product is 100% cruelty free and vegan.

This product has a range of shades to choose from and when Kat Von D launches in the UK I will definitely be one of the first in line to go pick up more shades of this lipstick and I am looking forward to trying out more from this brand.

Marc Jacobs Decadence

I have been wanting to have this perfume in my collection for months now and whilst my best friend was sunning it up in the US of A she very kindly bought me back the roller ball version of this perfume.

Marc Jacobs is one of my favourite perfume brands, and I was not disappointed when this one was released, however I think it is a smell that is very particular, and I know not everyone enjoys it. I however love it, and it is actually one of only a few in my extensive collection of perfumes that I can  smell on myself all day long.

In technical terms this perfume is described as containing;

Top notes of iris, saffron and plum.
Heart notes of iris, jasmine and Bulgarian rose.
Base notes of Papyrus, vetiver and liquid amber.

This a luxurious smelling, woody scented perfume, but as always describing the smell of something is difficult, and with true belief you will either love this perfume or hate it, so I highly recommend you go and smell it yourself. I would say it is a slightly overpowering smell, which I like, but again this is not suitable for everyone. It is not flowery or overly feminine, but rather sultry and  definitely makes a statement, so if this is your thing than I think you will really love this perfume.

A little really does go a long way with this perfume, and the full sized bottle is beautiful so this is my current favourite perfume in my collection.
