The Body Shop Pinita Colada Body Sorbet

This range from The Body Shop completely captures summer. The smell of Pina Colada is so summery to me, and reminds me of sun sea and sand and I feel like I am on a tropical vacation whenever I apply this.

As soon as I heard of the 'Pinita Colada' range from The Body Shop I immediately went into stores to browse it and came away with the 'Fresh Body Sorbet'. I was intrigued by this and decided to purchase this over the body butter, as it claims to be lightweight, and particularly in the summer I prefer to use moisturiser's that do not feel heavy or sticky on the skin and ones that sink in over just sitting on the skin. This range consists of this body sorbet, a body butter, shower gel and body scrub.

For £8 and a 200ml sized product this offers 'up to 24 hours of hydration' is light and fast absorbing' and 'leaves body instantly moisturised'. After using this not only is my skin moisturised immediately, but when I wake up the next day my skin is super soft and smooth. It does soak in really quickly and is great for use after a shower for quick moisture, and it is nice and lightweight. It does not smell as strong as the body butter, but it still smells delicious and exactly like pineapple and coconut that I find it very difficult to not eat the stuff!

I would love if The Body Shop could create a perfume or body spray for this range as it is my favourite by far.

L'action Paris Beauty

L'action Paris offer beauty products that are aimed at treating beauty and skin problems. The packaging and products themselves are small and easily accessible . I was kindly sent some of their products to try, and I have been loving using them.

Charcoal Sebum Patch - This is amazing, I have never used one of these before, and the stuff it pulls out is is slightly gross but also so fascinating. It ex-foliates the pores on your nose and after 15 minutes it cleanses and ex-foliates your skin. Whilst I found that it did it's desired effect, it hurt a little to peel off my nose, and left some black from the strip behind too.  You only need to use these 1-2 times a month and you get 5 strips in the packet.

Pearl Radiant Glow Mask - This is a do it yourself mask, that is designed to give a lifting feel to the skin. You mix the powder inside the packet with 2-3 tablespoons of water in a bowl, and then after applying to your face and leaving for 10 minutes, you should find your skin feeling and looking glowy and healthy. This is made from real cultured pearls, which really intrigued me, and I was really impressed with this one, it did not leave my skin feeling too tight afterwards, but left a lovely soft feeling to my skin.

Rice Oil Face Mask - This is another product that when arrived, I was really intrigued by. It is anti-ageing and tonifying face mask, that I have not gotten round to using yet. This is used to soothe your skin and give the perfect complexion.

Pore Reducing Cream -  This unclogs and tightens pores, and left my skin feeling smooth after use. It is recommended for those with oily and combination skin as it absorbs oil with a matifying effect, and so not ideal for my dry skin, however it does work and underneath my make up it acts as a great primer. This is composed of pineapple, passion fruit and raisin extracts which I love and smells incredible.

Soft Lip Scrub - I have been needing another one of these for a while. I have really dry lips and regularly moisturise them, but they still need ex-foliating often which I admittedly don't do as often as I should. This compact pen like design, makes it easy to apply to product to the lips, and works quick to eliminate dead skin. This is a part of L'action Paris' 1 minute solution line. After use I wipe the scrub off with a tissue and it leaves my lips feeling moisturised and smooth.

Lip Enhancer - I am always doubtful of these type of products, as the ones I have tried out before have only left my lips feeling tingly but I have never seen any of the desired results. Whilst this did not leave my lips feeling tingly it did give my lips a fuller appearance. There was not a massive difference, but this claims to shape the lips within four weeks of use so I have a bit longer to wait to see if this is true. This gives a clear, lovely shine to the lips and looks great over lipstick.

I have really enjoyed using these products, and highly recommend you check L'action Paris out - they have so many more great products to choose from!

March Favourites

Make Up Revolution Pro Fix Fixing Spray - I love this make up brand, and am so impressed with every product I have tried from them, high quality and affordable. This is no exception, it helps to keep my make up in place all day whilst also giving my skin a nice glow, an oil control version is also available but as I have dry skin this works wonders.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer - A product I wish I had tried so much sooner, and I think I will be repurchasing for a long time because I was so impressed on the first use. This is everything I want in a concealer. As it is pricey and there are many shades to choose from, make sure you have the right one for you. This is creamy, blend-able, lasts all day, and does not crease under my eyes. It covers and brightens and has a nice applicator.
Ciate X Olivia Palermo - A product I found in my TK Maxx store, and as soon as I saw it I had to have it. I have read many great things about this collaboration, The Cheek Bone Cheat Duo in Bluff Point. Both the bronzer and blusher, are lovely shades and easily blend-able and the packaging is gorgeous.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Foundation - After reading reviews, I chose the Light version of this foundation as I felt it would suit my skin the best and I definitely made the right choice. It feels like I have nothing on my face, whilst providing a high coverage which lasts all day! As I am pretty fair skinned, I chose Intensity 1 and when it comes out the tube it looks too dark, but once blended in it fits my skin tone so well, and I really wish I had tried this sooner!
Becca Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop - A must have and I finally got my hands on it and I was not disappointed, this can help create a subtle healthy glow or the most amazing full on highlight. It is a white gold with peachy undertones and I really think it would suit all skin tones. I purchased mine from Cult Beauty as soon as they had it back in stock.
Real Techniques Fan Brush - Unfortunately, only a part of the collectors edition sculpting set, which I highly recommend each brush is amazing, this is the perfect size for sweeping highlight onto your cheekbones and the edge is great for plotting out your contour. Plus, it is a gorgeous metallic pink shade.

What have you been loving during the month of March?

Urban Veda Purifying Body Wash

There are many environmental factors that affect the health of our skin in a negative way and Urban Veda have a range of products that are formulated using natural ingredients to leave skin less vulnerable to the effects of the environment.

'We believe the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda fits seamlessly into a modern 21st century lifestyle,' with the principles of Ayurveda an ancient health and wellbeing system based around plants therapeutic properties Urban Veda balances environmental factors with botanicals to detoxify and refresh skin and is formulated using herbs, flowers, fruits and multi vitamins. Additionally, Urban Veda helps to maintain skin's natural balance by infusing it with Omega-rich bio-oils and antioxidants.

This body wash smells clean and refreshing and although I usually go for fruity and sweet scents when it comes to body wash, this is a nice change and really makes me feel clean. This is due to an infusion of tea tree and spearmint which really gives a lift as well as botanicals Mulberry, Bearberry and Quassia to  nourish. Furthermore; 'Neem Oil detoxifies skin, working in synergy with collagen-boosting Arjuna extract to leave the whole body cleansed, hydrated and smooth,' I definitely feel this is true and have really enjoyed using this product. Plus, the packaging of their products come in bright colours which I find compliment their aims as well as well designed packaging to provide easy access to the product itself.

I highly recommend checking out this range of skincare products due to their benefits as well as comprehensible prices. Visit their website here: http://www.urbanveda.co.uk/ and follow them on their social media accounts:

Skin Doctors Skin Care

Skin Doctors Cosmeceuticals have a vast range of 'results focused' and 'problem specific' products that offer the alternative to surgery, and with solutions scientifically developed, they promise fast results. The products cover different concerns, from wrinkles and ageing to acne and stretch marks. I was kindly sent over the 'Zit Zapper' and the 'pH Balancing Cleanser' and got straight to using them.

Packaging: I like the packaging and design, the cleanser is in a squeezy tube, a bit like a suncream tube, and has a small nib so you don't lose too much product when you squeeze it out. The Zit Zapper applicator I find a little hard to use as it is difficult to get enough of the product out at times and find I have to rub the pen like tube onto my already troubled skin, but this I can get past as I really love the product itself.

pH Balancing Cleanser: This contains avocado extract and alpha hydroxy acid, a formula that removes dead skin cells, cleans, primes and ex-foliates as well as removing make up. It gives a fresher look to the skin, unclogging pores and maintains the skin's pH level. I also found that it helps the absorption of other products, my moisturiser would sink nicely into my skin and my make up does the same. I use this twice daily, applying it onto a damp face with my fingertips in a circular motion and my skin feels fresh and clean after use as opposed to tight and dry like some cleansers do, plus, this gives my skin a natural, luminosity.

Zit Zapper: An overnight spot corrector, I am so impressed with this product. I suffer with acne prone skin, particularly around that time of the month, and I have never used a spot treatment before that gets to work as fast as this one does. As it works immediately after use the it is an intensive spot formula that gives a slight sting/tingle after use - something I don't mind as I feel it means the product is working quickly. It calms areas of inflammation and dries out spots, even catching them before they have fully developed, as well as ex-foliating the skin and deeply cleansing the problem areas. After the first use, I awoke the next morning and already found the redness and spot itself had decreased in size, and after using it for a few weeks it tackles my spots, if any, so quickly that the 'problem area' really becomes less of a 'problem.'

Prices: pH Balancing Cleanser: £12.77 here  Zapper: £11.20 here To me this is a luxe skin care range that does not break the bank and I really cannot see myself without these products in the future.

I would highly recommend this skin care range! Visit their site http://skindoctors.co.uk/

Amphora Aromatics: Lavender and Tea Tree Moisturiser

This is the second product from the AA Skincare range that I am reviewing on my blog, (see here) and once again, it has been a pleasure using this product. I have a lot of respect for this range; with a combination of essential oils and natural ingredients this skincare range creates effective and affordable products.

Lavender & Tea Tree Moisturising Face Lotion
I have never been fond of the scent of lavender, particularly when used in products that are applied to the body, and so before I tried this I was slightly curious about whether that factor would have an input in my use of this face lotion. I was pleasantly surprised and found that the scent was not too overwhelming, and that I've become to like the scent of lavender. I am also a fan of tea tree and the benefits it has and have found that the mix of these two together creates a calming and soothing lotion that also helps to refresh and clear the skin.

The cream is light and absorbs easily and quickly and it does not make my skin feel sticky or greasy at all. I am not 100% certain as to whether this lotion clears spot prone skin or blemishes, as fortunately I have been having a good skin month! I hope to be able to test this theory in the upcoming weeks.

I really like the packaging of this product, the easy to use pump is great for distributing the cream, and £6.96 for 100ml is really not bad going at all.

I am happy to be able to give my readers a 20% discount: use BLOG20 at their website! (Link below)

I hope to review more products from AA Skincare in the future. Visit them on social media Facebook / Twitter / https://instagram.com/aaskincareuk/ or visit them at their website http://www.aaskincare.co.uk/

My Current Favourite Highlighters

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder - Pink Shimmer
Seventeen Skin Wow 3 Way Highlighter
the Balm Mary-Lou Manizer Luminizer
MAC Pearlmatte Face Powder - Pink Buttercream

These are just a few of the highlighters in my collection and it's fair to say that a good highlighter product is my favourite step in my make-up routine. These four are my current favourites and I have an internal battle every morning on which one to use!

In my opinion all four give a totally different effect on my skin but similarly give a spectacular finish, providing my skin with a lovely glow. They range in prices, but I have to say I am so impressed with Make Up Academy's highlighter product, at just £3 you can't go wrong! It gives a radiant glow to my skin and works just as well the more expensive products from the Balm and Mac.

The Seventeen highlighter has three amazing uses to it, to prime, to add to your foundation (giving an effect similar to Rimmel's Wake Me Up foundation) and to add to the tops of your cheekbones for that perfect highlight. After using the product in all three ways, I have found that it gives a lovely luminous glow however you choose to use it.

Mac's Pink Buttercream unfortunately was a limited edition product, and can also be used as a subtle pink blush or a glowing highlight. I find it gives the best results when I swirl all colours of the product together on one brush.

The Balm's Mary-Lou Manizer is probably my top top favourite highlighter product. I find that this gives so much colour to the face and it is super pigmented so a little goes a long way! I'd class this as a champagne shade however I think it would look lovely on any skin tone.

What are your thoughts on these products? What are your favourite highlighter products? I'd love to know!
