Current Favourite Eyeshadow Palettes

Eyeshadow has never really been my favourite part of my make up routine, I find it can be messy and as I'm someone who prefers to apply my concealer before I create any eye look, fall down is at times inevitable and thus super annoying. Despite this, with great eyeshadow palettes making a home in my collection I find myself enjoying the process of applying eyeshadow more now, and these products are a huge reason why.

All three of these have separate but equally positive reviews on my blog and they all very quickly became fast favourites of mine after the first use. Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Luxury Palette, Make Up Geek Eyshadows in a small Z Palette and MeMeMe Cosmetics Ultimate Eye Palette Soft Rose

Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Luxury Palette: With a clue in the name, this is a luxurious palette, pricey at £38 as expected of Charlotte Tilbury, but worth the money all the same. All four shades are different, but equally lovely, and this palette in particular is very versatile, helping to create perfect differing looks for day time through to night. Full review here.

Make Up Geek Eyeshadows & Z Palette: I was so happy when these were finally made available for UK purchase on Beauty Bay and have a review here of the first three shades I picked out. I recently purchased three more and I am so happy with the colours I added to my collection 'latte,' taupe notch' and 'mocha' all compliment each other when used together or work well on their own. I really recommend Make Up Geek eye shadows, there are so many colours to choose from, they are easy to blend and all super pigmented. Z Palette, also available at Beauty Bay have a range of different sizes and colours to choose from to store your eye shadows in.

MeMeMe Cosmetics Ultimate Eye Palette Soft Rose: Eight subtle but lovely shades to choose from, a mix of matte and shimmer shades, these are not overly pigmented, but they can be easily built up, and the palette comes with a handy brush. Read more about it here, plus more products from MeMeMe Cosmetics.

Make Up Geek eyeshadows and Z Palette

L-F: Bitten, Cocoa Bear and Creme Brulee

As soon as I found out that Beauty Bay were stocking Make Up Geek and Z Palettes I went straight ahead and made an order. These products are raved about by instagrammers and bloggers and after reading so many great reviews for so long, I am so happy they are available for UK purchase. Make Up Geek have three types of eyeshadows available for purchase on Beauty Bay; 'eyeshadow pans' (£4.95), 'duochrome eyeshadow pans' (£4.95) and 'foiled eyeshadow pans.' (£7.95) I chose to start off my collection with a few from the 'eyeshadow pan' section.
I pondered over shades of eyeshadows on the site for ages before I made my decision on three to start off my collection and fill my Z Palette with. I chose 'Bitten', 'Cocoa Bear' and 'Creme Brulee' all shades that I think suit my eye colour best, and all great for creating a natural or more heavy eye look.
I am so impressed with how pigmented these are (unfortunately the image above doesn't pick up the colour that well), the colour pay off is super, but also really easy to blend and build up. All three shades I picked are matte, 'Bitten' although a matte shade, feels so creamy you would not think it was a matte eyeshadow, it is a deep purple, burgundy shade, the more pigmented of the three in my opinion. 'Cocoa Bear' is my favourite, it is a warm red toned brown and I think it is complimentary for every eye colour. 'Creme Brulee' is a neutral shade but does have warmth to it, I like using it as a transitional or outer corner colour, but I also think it looks lovely on its own.

Have you tried Make Up Geek? What are your favourite shades and which ones should I get next?

Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Palette

L-R: Prime, Enhance, Pop and Smoke

I am finally the proud owner of my first Charlotte Tilbury product! I decided to go with one of the beautiful colour-coded eye shadow palettes and after debating between 'Dolce Vita' and 'Vintage Vamp' I chose 'Dolce Vita' and I am so chuffed with my choice.
Not only is the packaging beautiful- light and compact, but the product itself is so lovely that it is definitely the most luxurious product in my make up collection - which is expected for the rather hefty price tag!
The four shades help to create such versatile looks such as a glam and golden glittery eye to a smoky burgundy look. All four shades  have a lovely texture and are so pigmented as well as easily blend-able and build-able. I have green eyes and I personally think this palette compliments them so well.
The press on golden pigment is like no other shade I own, great for creating a look perfect for going out!
This palette really does make me swoon and is pretty much perfection. I wouldn't say it's a palette you need in your collection in terms of being an essential item, but for what it is and the price you pay (£38) it is super luxurious and beautiful.

W7 Eye Palette

In The Buff: Lightly Toasted Natural Nudes palette is just one of four eye palettes from w7 in this collection, the other three being In The Buff, In The Nude and In The Night. What drew me to this collection was the fact that they look very similar to the Naked Palettes from Urban Decay and were so much cheaper in price. I chose the Lightly Toasted palette as it contained shades that I have always worn on my eyes and feel comfortable wearing, as well the fact that I know I can make use of every shade in the palette.

Each palette contains twelve very pigmented shades for just £4.99. This palette contains colours that are neutral but they can be built up to create a darker, more intense smoky eye, making this palette perfect for bringing your look from day to night. I find that these colours last on my eyes without creasing or moving and the palette comes with a dual ended brush/sponge, which I don't always use when applying but it is still pretty good.

Also, I need to discuss the packaging of this product. It comes in a metal, tin case, not cardboard or plastic, thank goodness and so the eyeshadows are well protected by the sturdy case.

From left to right: Teddy Bear, Wonderland, Cracker, Happy, Lady Luck, Twister, Di Di,
Delilah, Magic, It's A Dream, Up In Smoke and Dawn.

All in all, a really good buy, with a range of shades to take your make up look from day to night.

Until next time,
